Fire District 8 Headquarters Building

This past month we had the opportunity to work with the fine folks at Spokane County Fire District 8 Headquarters. They needed larger identification on the front of their fire house and new identification for their entrances at the office and training facility. The headquarters is a training facility as well as a fire engine house. It has a lot of visitors and because of it's somewhat remote location required better identification signs. Signs for Success was awarded the job and installed laser cut acrylic letters. The letters have stud mounts on the back which stick out so that the letters are not flat to the wall but set ½ inch out from the wall face. This adds dimension and a natural cast shadow.
It was a fun job and turned our great. The fire fighters and staff liked the new look. Signs for Success can create many very exiciting looks with the various materials available. Dimensional letters and logos can be manufactured from plastics, metals, foam, wood or combinations to create the image you want from your dimensional signage. To see more on this project and all the different uses for dimensional letters CLICK HERE

Modern large format printing technology is amazing. There are print medias/films to put your image on just about any surface. Whether you want a vehicle wrap, window wrap, boat wrap or wall wrap Signs for Successs can so it!

Recently one of our clients, BHW1 had a project for one of their clients that required a unique solution. Their client Whitworth University is opening a branch location in the downtown Spokane "University District" and wanted to promote their new location.
Initially the idea was to install a 4'x20' banner on the wall. However because the building is new and banner installation would require penetrations into the brick surface, property management nixed the idea. An alternative suggested by Signs for Success was a wrap film specifically developed for pourous surfaces.
The film used is 3M IJ2684 with matching IJ2685 overlaminate. This is a unique product that with heat will conform to almost any surface. Removing the graphic is a breeze because it has a "releasable adhesive", and will leave no sticky mess.
The finished installation has a retro hand painted look, because the film form to every bump, nook and cranny in the surface. If you have a blank wall indoors or out that needs an advertising message or just decortated, contact Signs for Success. We can help you find the solution to any print problem.

Makeovers are one of the most enjoyable types of projects we do at Signs for Success. This past month we had the opportunity to do a make over on a concession trailer for White's All American Concessions. The 30' unit is one of their main workhorses and they were ready to change up the image. The look they were looking for is a patriotic, All American look. The strategy is that with a downturn in the economy and an upsurge in the traditional American attitude of "CAN DO", a patriotic theme would attract customers.
As with most wrap projects, design, layout and proofing take the most time. Vanessa Bogensberger was the designer and worked closely with Nick and Ed White from White's All American Concessions to come up with the perfect layout. The project included removing the existing graphics and the adhesive associated with them.
We used 3M ControlTac High Performance wrap vinyl film with 3M 8519 luster overlaminate. The graphics were printed on our HP 9000 6-color solvent ink printer using a custom ICC color profile. Once all surfaces were clean and ready, installation took 57 man hours. It took a team effort but we got championship results. The clients were very satisfied with the final results and are now into the busy part of their season.
If you have a makeover type project in mind, the trained, experienced, professional team at Signs for Success are ready to help you make it happen.

Signs For Success founder thrives with industry support
According to John Bogensberger, there are two kinds of people who move to Spokane: Those who are looking to move to the big city and those are looking to escape the big city.
Back in 2001, he and his wife, Vanessa, were the latter. Having spent their entire lives up to that point in the Seattle area, they were looking for a place with fewer people and less traffic. They chose Spokane.
On the West Side, the couple operated a water- and fire-damage restoration business. When they moved to Spokane, the Bogensbergers decided to try something new: they started a sign-manufacturing business and named it Signs For Success.
In its previous business, the couple had been members of a home builders association in the Seattle area, but they weren't active. Regardless, Signs For Success became a member of the Spokane Home Builders Association early in its first year.
"Some of our first customers were other members," he said.
Nine years later, Signs For Success has seven employees and makes a wide range of signs, banners and vehicle graphics. For example, one day in late April, the company was making banners to hang on light poles along Market Street in Hillyard, menu-item signs for an Asian restaurant, and "No smoking" billboards for Spokane Transit Authority buses.
Bogensberger said the most popular types of signage the company makes currently are vehicle wraps, where the signage takes the shape of the car and frequently canvasses its exterior, and corrugated plastic signs, such as the ones that say, "Another Quality Job By ..." that contractors use.
Roughly 15 percent of the company's business involves making signs for contractors. Other large sectors include its wholesale market, which includes making signs for advertising agencies, and various government agencies.
Bogensberger said he has been active in SHBA, and he's been grateful for the organization's support. Last year, when the city of Spokane proposed a restrictive new sign ordinance, Bogensberger said SHBA lobbied on behalf of Signs For Success and other Spokane-area sign makers. Ultimately, the city passed a revised sign ordinance based on the recommendations of the sign makers and its supporters.
"SHBA was very helpful," he said. "The Association is not afraid to take a position on an issue. I like that."

Why would you wrap stuff other than vehicles? Like elevators wraps, stair wraps, door handle wraps, door wraps, sidewalks, entries, port-o-potty wraps, laptop wraps, showers, and just about any smooth surface?
Unique, specialty wraps are creeping in everywhere and making an impression in a big way. They've been so effective, videos go viral and pictures end up all over social media sites like Facebook. But, WHY?
Simply, the ‘wow, that's cool' effect of these modern graphic solutions makes people talk. Suddenly, we want to tell our friends, coworkers and colleagues...so we do. Not only that, but as more and more companies push to make it through this tough economy, they are inevitably tightening their marketing belt. Surprisingly, that means an investment in one really impactful piece instead of multiple ‘already been done' ads.
What about a port-o-potty wrap? The concept might mean transforming a regular, um, portable toilet into a something else, even a bank vault. Imagine a party where you have four bank vaults on the front lawn. Would you mention it to your friends on Monday? I bet your friends would ask who sponsored the vaults. Maybe one of them would even be planning an event, say a fundraiser for a local bank. Guess whose company they'd call?
The point is, if I only have a few thousand dollars and I need to make the most unique, memorable impression I possibly can, a specialty wrap is a great solution. You don't have to sell an item. Take note of the travel agency that wrapped their stairs to look like suitcases. Your imagination (ok, ok, you should pair with some creative visual folks, too) is the only thing stopping you.
While vehicle wrapping, bus wrapping, etc have been the norm, think about a few others, just for kicks, like plane wrapping, boat wrapping, shower wrapping...really, any non-porous, semi-smooth surface...phone wraps, window wraps, wall wraps, garage door wraps, unique-eye-catching walls...do you see where I'm going with this? If you have your vehicle wrapped, use some of the scrap or have some extra printed to wrap your laptop & phone... it's unique and one-of-a-kind. It gets noticed and mentioned.
For an unusual or specialty wrap call us...we'll get a kick out of it!
What would you wrap? We'd love to hear your ideas! See the clip below for some cool Specialty Wraps.

KXLY 4 HD at Signs for Success
Sometime you just get lucky! This past Monday Mark Peterson from KXLY 4 HD visited our facilities for 4 hours during the "Good Morning Northwest" Show. We were spot lighted for "Manufacturing Monday".
We had a really great time doing live segments on everything from Vehicle Wraps, Banners, Large Format Digital Printing, Vinyl Signs, Corrogated Plastic Signs to just abount everything we do here at Signs for Success! During the morning show we were on the air for almost 12 minutes. It might have been more but 10 minutes into the show the remote truck had a failure and went off the air. Mark was amazing! He didn't miss a beat just called the station and did the weather forecast over his cell phone. The joke developed that his response to everybody was hence forth to be "WHAT NOW?" So we set to work making decals, some of which we mounted to PVC Plastic to make a rigid sign. We even took a picture of him holding the "What Now?" sign and made a 86" over sized Standee from the picture.
After the "Good Morning Northwest" show Mark and his cameraman Jerry, shot a few "bridge" segments and used those to edit every thing they shot during the morning to make a 1.5 minute feature for the 6:30 evening news.
Opportunities for this kind of publicity don't come along very often. We sure had a great time and received a great response from our clients and the public at large! Thanks Mark Peterson and KXLY 4 HD for the exposure and fun!

Bruce Butterworth of Contract Design Associates recently did a major remodel on their showroom located at 402 East Sprague Ave, Spokane.
Part of the concept for the new design was 8’ tall movable partitions with branding for the various lines offered by Contract Design Associates (CDA). CDA designer Lindsey Vanden Bos created the graphic layouts for the partitions. The concept specifications for the partitions required the ability to display the graphics and yet be able to see through them. Traditional opaque materials and fabrics just couldn’t fill the requirement. Signs for Success suggested link a mesh banner material as it would be able to meet the desired results. Traditionally mesh banner material is utilized in high wind conditions where solid banner fabric is prone to failure due to excessive wind load.
“This is the first time we’ve had the opportunity, let alone the requirement, for this material in an indoor scenario” stated John Bogensberger, Project Coordinator. “It was also the first time we produced pole pockets on this material with our new vinyl welder from Miller Weldmaster. The end product turned out great!” he added. If you would like to take a look at this project in person or you are moving your business, remodeling, or it’s just time to upgrade your look, feel free to stop by CDA, their friendly staff looks forward to the opportunity. If you need a new look as it relates to graphics, Signs for Success can produce custom interior and exterior signs, custom wall paper, and now thanks to CDA, custom partitions.

Often here at Signs for Success it's the big jobs that stand out in our minds. The big truck wrap, the giant banner or the order for hundreds of signs for an event. Throughout life we get reminded that sometimes it's the little stuff that counts.
That was the case when Blaine and Ben of WaterOut contacted us about their latest project. Signs for Success has wrapped many vehicles for WaterOut including pick-ups, vans, trailers, and box trucks, which are all good sized fun projects, but never had we wrapped a Go-Cart.
"We had it sitting in the field out behind the barn" explained Blaine. "Our crew thought it would be fun to get it running again and use it at events like parades and golf tournaments to promote our growing company."
As an addition to the van-shaped Go-Cart WaterOut fabricated a hitch and trailer to tow behind. They haul and distribute custom labeled drinking water (labels also produced by Signs for Success).
"I have known Blaine and Ben for over 20 years" stated John Bogensberger of Signs for Success. "It's been fun having a part in their creativity and success."

We can digitally print your ads in a large poster, 28x22 or 36x24 or 72x48, whatever size you would like. As quantities increase, square foot pricing is reduced. We print large posters for a local pizza pipeline, as well as for the Spokane Symphony. Our turn-around is quick, and the quality is great. You can have the posters laminated as well!
